BLACK TURMERIC
Black turmeric is a very rare herb. It looks quite different than the more common orange turmeric.
Scientific Name – Curcuma Caesia
Origin – North East and Central India
Colors – Dark Brown, Bluish black or buff in color (Rhizome)
Shapes – 2-6 cm in Diameter, the shape and is often variable (Rhizome)
Flesh Color – Bluish white.
Taste – Somewhat bitter, pungent with an earthy, hot taste.
Shelf Life – 4-6 months
